Ruedisima Selected for LA Salsa
Congress
On Saturday night (25th
October 2003) at the Sydney Latin Fiesta at the Roundhouse
(University of NSW), the Ruedisima performance nearly brought
the house down with their show routine, which was one
of four to be selected (from 17 competing teams from all
over Australia) to represent Australia at the next World Salsa
Congress in LA next May.
The
routine, featuring "dancing dummies" Cindy and Samantha had
the 600 strong crowd in awe (and in stitches)
Ruedisima also took the
"Rising Star" award on a night which made history as the first
of its kind to be organized in Australia. Organized by Latin Motion Dance Academy and Latin Dance Australia in
conjunction with Albert Torres Productions, the event promises to be even bigger next
year.
Other teams to be selected were Latin Motion, LDA and
Hot Feet Dance Company. Additionally, three other teams were
selected to perform on an afternoon session, including
Latinize from Brisbane, Latinissimo (Melbourne) and Salsa 6
(Sydney).
