specializes in Rueda and Salsa classes and shows. We are among the
'pioneers' of Rueda in Sydney
If you're from Sydney
you may have seen us performing over the past few years at places
like the Bacardi Festival de Cuba at Darling Harbour, Sydney
Salsa Congress, Sydney Latin Fiesta. We also Performed in the West
Salsa Congress in L.A.
As well as being excellent dancers, our instructors
collectively have
many years of dance teaching experience. |

Mauricio
Hernandez
Colombia
where he began dancing at an early age. He moved to
Australia
15 years ago and his passion for Latin dancing led him to
establishing one of
Sydney
’s first salsa schools which currently runs group classes
throughout
Sydney
and
Newcastle
most nights of the week.
Mauricio
has experience in many different Latin dance genres including salsa,
Argentine tango, merengue, cumbia, rumba, son and Chilean folkloric
dancing to name a few.
He
has been involved with numerous events throughout his dance career
and has performed internationally as well as locally. One
particular highlight for Mauricio over the years has been sharing
the stage with international salsa legends Oscar D’Leon and Jose
Feliciano. He is also proud to have played an instrumental
role in the development of the
Newcastle
salsa scene, including the yearly Latino Nights festival with the
local council.
Mauricio
has also participated in a number of dance competitions and
consistently places highly. Last year, he placed 2nd
in the Australian Salsa Championships and 3rd in the
Australian Tango Championships, proving him to be a talented and
versatile dancer.

Matthew Thomson has
more than ten years of Salsa dancing experience gained in various parts of the world,
including Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, England, Holland,
etc. Matthew has been teaching Salsa since early 1998. He has been
performing at festivals, nightclubs and special events since 1994,
including Fiesta Latina 97 and 98 at the Performance Space. As a
choreographer he has the ability to integrate drama, humour and
various dance styles and techniques. His technical and musical
background together with his passion for salsa gives him the ability
to break down the steps and communicate them effectively to his
students.
Competitions: Finalist, UK
Salsa Championships in London 1996; - Winner, Cafe-de-la-Salsa competition, Bacardi Festival,
January 2001; -2nd Place, Australian selections for IDO World Salsa Championship
2001.

scene as excellent dancer. Her experience proves invaluable in her roles as teachers and performers.

Graeme
Popular international instructor, Graeme
was the first to teach the linear (LA / NY) styles and shines to the
Australian salsa community. Many of Sydney's best known instructors
and performers have attended Graeme's workshops during his past
trips to Sydney. His excellent teaching skills, fantastic moves and
sense of humour are always a hit. |
